Fishing report from Trout Camp on Varzina river, 04.07-11.07.2021.
It was hot. Air temperature in the sunshine exceeded +30C. However, water temperature didn’t go beyond +11C. Hatch of dayfly and caddis fly. Fishing for trout was all along the whole river on dry flies. On Kozel fishing took place only on the outlet from Chilijavr. Salmon was caught on all pools up to the lake(Lake pool).
Among trophy trout caught this week one was 70cm, 5 samples over 65cm and 16 fish over 60cm. All in all 320 trout and one salmon were caught this week. As a bycatch in the river guests caught Arctic char, and big lake pike was caught in the riverfront.
